Nor I. I can't and will not ever forget who started this horrible war, who stood up for a free Ukraine and a JUST peace, and who paid the ultimate price for that courage.
I care, and I feel personally impacted. Why? Because I am a teacher in America. There are children that I know and care about who long for their home country. As this country descends into chaos, I feel outraged that we are failing to do enough to protect anyone.
Please keep writing, Viktor. Your words comfort me while they sadden me. Yours are the eyes that see; yours are the words that let us see.
Keep writing, my friend. We need you to be our eyes and our ears. We need someone we can trust to tell us the truth. What you see every day changes, even while it seems to be the same. Please keep sharing your truth.
We are here. We are watching. We are listening. We are hearing.
Viktor, I am not tired of watching. I am tired of the world allowing it to happen. I am tired of watching billionaires kissing up to Putin. I am tired of Trump looking at my country like Putin looks at yours. But I will never tire of standing in support. I have family there, my blood in in this war too. Slava Ukraini
Are you in Canada? I'm in the US, and I stand with Canada, Ukraine, and all our other spurned allies. It feels a little like I'm living in Russia in early 2022, just waiting and watching to see if our crazy "president" will follow through on his threats to invade our neighbors. I pray that day never comes, but if it does, I'll be making preparations to leave. I can't in good conscience live in a country where my consumer and taxpayer dollars could easily be used to fund a useless war.
I will always watch for your posts, I will always care about Ukraine. I carried a sign for you yesterday at the protest in my small Idaho town. I met another man with a large Ukraine flag, whose motherโs family came from Ukraine. I talked to people who wanted their picture taken with your colors, who agreed that your President is the true leader of the free world.
We hugged and cried for Ukraine and the war. Bless you, my brother in spirit.
And in Wenatchee, Washington, USA as well. We have many Ukrainians in Washington state and Oregon, and many of us volunteer and help people settle in. Immigrants from every country are ๐ค welcome.
I'm an American living in a subsidized apartment in Eastern Washington. I moved here a couple of years ago. Most of the residents here are Ukrainian or Russian. My neighbor is a young man who was brought here from Russia in 1993 by his mom when he was 10. The lady above him is Ukrainian. The lady above me, I'm not sure if she's Russian or Ukrainian. Everyone here seems to get along pretty well. There are bumps. My Russian neighbor is sometimes peeved at the Ukrainian lady above him. He says she walks too hard on the floor. The lady above me is always inviting me to her Slavic church. She's the one who plants the flowers in the courtyard in the front in spring, and complains because the truck belonging to the American man on the other side of us is too loud on cold mornings. The Ukrainian lady is not fond of me because I have a dog, and she's afraid of dogs. So I make sure that my dog is tight on the leash and give the Ukrainian lady a lot of space. My neighbors vent and then get over it. Normal neighbor stuff. The point I'm trying to make is that I believe that if everyone can get along in my small microcosm, it should be possible in the bigger world. The parts of Ukraine that Russia wants contain valuable resources. They are yours, please don't give them away! And your country is part of the line in the sand between dictatorship and freedom. Please don't give up! I know the US will be back to help you beginning in 2026 when we have midterms and start to gain back control of Congress. I read also that Europe is helping more too. I hope so. You are paying such a dear price for your country, and my words seem very cheap, but I have to say them, please, do not give up. I don't like to think how much hope the rest of us would lose if you did not succeed.
Please know that despite the headlines, many Americans still see you and still feel. We are not going to stop praying for you and your country. Please continue your writings and know that you are not alone in this world. Much love and hope from America.
Luckily for me, I have never known war up close and personal. I do not know how it really feels to live that reality. I am thousands of miles away from Ukraine, so I can only imagine what the Ukrainian people suffer through every day. But, when I read your posts, Viktor, I feel as if I have a personal connection to the war. Thank you for your humanity and courage.
This Canadian cares deeply. Did you know the second largest Ukrainian population outside of Ukraine lives here? You have been our friends and family, and a proud part of our Canadian mosaic of people. We could never forget.
Dear Viktor please know that I care. There are many people who care. I watch the videos every day. Although I can't understand your language, I understand the visuals. I see the pain and exhaustion in President Zelenskyy's eyes. I see the hope and fear in the eyes of your warriors. I see the appreciation and pain of the people kneeling as a hero's coffin drives by. I see love in your country. Don't give up. I stand with Ukraine. Slava Ukraini.
Thank you for writing. You make the snippets from the news very real. You make me sit up and stand taller knowing the things I am facing are not the ripping open of my friends, homes, schools, workplaces. I promise not to look away. I am sad I donโt have the resources to support your writings and reporting at this time. Thank you for allowing access anyway. You are in my thoughts and prayers especially today on Easter Sunday with its hopes and promises.
Victor, there are some things we can do, out here in the either, bouncing off communication satellites. Our late President Jimmy Carter started a volunteer charity called HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, and it has become worldwide. There are HABITAT volunteers in Poland trying to ease the impact of housing for refugees that Poland has opened their arms to. There is DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS stepping into the breach of bombed-out hospitals. I send what I can to these volunteer charities, and encourage others to do so as well. When this war ends...and it will end...do keep writing, and telling the world your feelings. You words have more depth, more reasoning, more beauty that you will ever know......but we will continue to tell you, to read you, to support you.
We are heartbroken and weary โ watching your war and now fighting for our freedom. I can't imagine what you're living through, please keep writing. We bring Ukrainian flags to our weekly protests and you are all in our hearts โ love from Colorado.
Appreciate you and what you share. It's important. Wish I could do more, but no matter my ability or resources, I won't look away.

You're right, Donna. Without Viktor and his writing, we would lose our true witness to the state of Ukraine and its people.
This. I couldnโt express it better if I tried ๐บ๐ฆ๐ฝ
So true. Viktor you are our eyes and ears. You tell it all to us in truth. We would be lost without you.
You and your fellow Ukrainians give us the strength to keep fighting our fight to free us from our domestic tyrants.
