I totally agree and am writing to officials. The US position is heartless and a moral failure. It is not peace but capitulation. I can’t believe my country has come to this

Your country will always be the source of inspiration for everyone in the world who loves democracy, dear Theodore. This government will never be confused with what America represents. Your fundamental values as a nation are beyond Trump's actions. And most important, what people believe is intact(proof of that is the many millions and millions who manifest their support for Ukraine every day in the streets or in the ways they find possible, like on social media.) πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Every single day I imagine Cap'n Bone Spurs being pulled off the back of a pickup truck and beaten to death by the legions of people he's betrayed. The majority red party in the US Congress is still refusing to stand up for our democracy.

Cap'n Bone Spurs has NEVER negotiated in good faith for Ukraine; he's always been on Putin's side and will never change his spots. Ukraine should not give one inch of its land to a thug like Putin. We are not fooled by our tyrant's intentions.

Probably; also there's more people, period. During the 1950s-60s, there was like half the global population we have now.

Mixed blessing... :-/

Speaking of mixed blessings, with global tech the way it is, at least we know about such things, we hear from brave people on the front lines for ourselves (doesn't have to go through the mainstream media any more, thankfully), and we can organize things very, very quickly. :)

Victor, one would think representatives and senators were not dumb enough to go against their voters, however, I live in Texass (second β€œs” is not a mistake) which is a republican state (it didn’t used to be, it was very Democratic when I first moved here. Then the republicons (emphasis on β€œcon”) took over. It’s not a state I wished I lived in now, but at my age, 76, I don’t want to move back to my home state of New Mexico which is run by Democrats, so I visit my sister for a month or two every year, not enough, but better than nothing. There a many people in Texass that support Ukraine against Putin. Stay safe. I pray for all Ukrainians every day.

As an American, I was already ashamed and embarrassed by our Criminal President. After reading your post, Viktor, I was even more ashamed and embarrassed. I didn’t think that was possible. As you wrote, being told to give up Crimea truly is like being asked "To amputate a part of ourselves, and say thank you for the bandage.” That line perfectly encapsulates what Ukraine is being asked to do. It is obvious that the Criminal American President is nothing more than Putin’s Pinocchio.

Thank you Norm, sharing something honest with you here, sometimes I feel guilty if I should keep writing about "the criminal" because it embarasses so much so many good people like you who have nothing to do with him and never share a single idea present on his evil mind. But you know, we are not here to please ourselves or to celebrate anything: our mission together, me writing and you reading, is to make a better world for all of us, and to address cruelty to their deserved place in history, which is the incinerator. And that we will only reach if we expose everything we need to do wherever and whatever it is! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
