Has the nuclear war just started?
Those who are threatening to blow up the world simply don't care.
HONESTLY SPEAKING, I NEVER BELIEVED that we would reach this point.
After 33 long months of war, traveling through regions of Ukraine, talking to people from all backgrounds, and having participated in several field operations, I've seen the worst consequences of the war. The worst of the worst of what humans are capable of suffering, or inflicting on each other.
We know well that we are dealing with the personification of evil. Not only in the figure of that dictator whose name I won't mention, but also in millions and millions of Russians (and North Koreans) who follow his orders and come to Ukraine to spread misery.
But I was secretly thinking that the "worst" would never reach the extreme of a nuclear threat. I had never considered the scenario. It was as though it didnβt exist, or a naive belief that no human creature on Earth would have the courage to raise this possibility.
Two nights ago, they chose Dnipro, my hometown, to make a demonstration of power that takes this war to the extreme level I never believed in: it was attacked with an intercontinental ballistic missile weighing 50 tons, designed specifically to carry nuclear warheads.
Ukraine was attacked with a nuclear weapon.
And the fact that the nuclear payload of this weapon was absent doesn't change the reality that this was an attack with a nuclear weapon. Besides, the immense kinetic energy of the impact from this kind of missile alone is enough to cause massive destruction.
The dictator intends to add a psychological component to Ukraine and all our allies. These kinds of attacks and threats are acts of terror against the Ukrainian people and all of humanity. He wants to test the international reaction and demonstrate his ability to escalate this war to the extreme.
This war has never been as international as it is now. Since this attack, Russia has declared that it is ready to destroy human life across the entire planet if it doesnβt achieve its objectives in Ukraine.
The worst danger of all is that they are far from achieving these objectives.
Our bravery and our courage are sources of so much sacrifice from us and so much admiration from our friends around the world. But they also what pose the biggest threat to Ukraine and everyone else: the Russian perception of defeat will work as an incentive for them to go suicidal over it.
The use of their nuclear arsenal, instead of being a demonstration of strength, is a show of weakness. In this game of cards, they are running out of cards and using the few they have in their dirty hands.
History does not forgive these kinds of people. And they know that.
We know well the mentality of Russians through these centuries of hell they have imposed on us. They are engulfed in vanity and arrogance. They are people who never recognize the time to stop and acknowledge the reality of defeat.
They have an incredible element of cowardice, as they have demonstrated to us several times. 90 years ago, they attempted genocide against the Ukrainian people with one of the worst known man-made famines. For nothing.
If anything, it was for the satisfaction of their pride. They gained nothing from killing 5 million Ukrainians at that time.
Now, they will also gain nothing from murdering 40 million Ukrainians. They simply donβt care.
They don't even care about themselves. And that's the main problem we have.
Because they are ready to explode the world. A world where many people care about themselves.
Like you and me.
We need to stop them.

I have no helpful words to write here. I want you to know you are all in my heart. It feels that evil is encroaching everywhere. We must not be scared. We must stand united against the bullyβs of the world.
