Apart from my dear and closest friends, I've noticed that most of the people who are interested and closely following Ukrainian news aren't still aware of the book I launched one month ago. It's called: The Divine Comedian: Ukraine's journey through Hell, Purgatory and Paradise. Since this week, it's also available at Amazon, the largest online bookstore of the world.
It's hard to imagine, to someone living in a peaceful country or lucky enough to be distant from a border with Russia, how this war could affect a society. Ukraine went into the most possible disruption of all aspects of life. Once it's not so easy to find the Ukrainian experience told by a native, I decided to share my view because my experience is a summary of those from millions of compatriots: alone, far from the family who sought refuge abroad, internally displaced inside the country, and living one day after another.
In this book, I shift the conversation from the news and turn the focus to the human soul. Using my own soul, I try to express in words the inexpressible, so I got inspired by Dante Alighieri's masterpiece 'Divine Comedy' to find thoughts and ideas exchangeable into a text while paying a tribute to our current president and former comedian Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
I wrote this book with the purpose of helping readers to clarify their thoughts. It’s a combination of information, stories, observations and new ways to approach the idea of which civilization we want to live in. that can have real-life impact and get us out of the usual dead-end cycles.
This is the book I have always wanted to write since the war started. It contains everything I consider to be essential for inviting our caring supporters of Ukraine to have a feeling of how things are going in this part of the world now.
I worked hard to make the book approachable and enjoyable to read. I also want to make it as accessible as possible, so that's why I made it available for free on every platform I could. Amazon is an exception as I had to set the price at some value other than zero, so it's available at the lowest possible price there (less than one dollar in most currencies).
Honestly speaking, things are delicate for me in the financial sphere and personally I would widely welcome any contribution that could be made. I got the taste for writing, and in addition to necessity, I'm searching for ways to structure a career on it. Nevertheless, the primary intention of this book is to spread the message, and I'd be more than happy if you just download it and read without compromise.
